Peter Everard Smith

Peter Everard Smith ('Pete') was born and schooled in Norfolk. He attended The City and Guilds of London Art School, studying painting and printmaking.

His first works as a young photographer were commissions for record sleeves. Following this were reportage projects for The Central Office of Information and the Illustrated London News, which led to regular magazine commissions.

The most important creative influence came from photographic mentor and life long friend, Lewis Morley, creator of the iconic Christine Keeler chair photograph. Much of Peter's work has concentrated on performing arts, particularly theatre and film.

He continues to shoot for magazines, institutional clients, trade unions and arts organisations. A number of his photographs have been acquired by the National Portrait Gallery in London.
